Choo Choo Diner

Tonight we took a trip to the 'burbs to eat at the Choo Choo Diner.  I had heard about this little place and thought it would be fun to take the girls.  It is not famous for its food, it is famous for its delivery...

Dinner arrives at your table on a little electric train.  Here come our burgers!

The girls were fascinated with the model train.  It runs around the track every minute or so.  And it is magic every time it goes by.  The walls are covered in train posters and paraphernalia.  Giddy children (especially boys...lots of them) watch the train whiz by carrying hotdogs and hamburgers to booths across the little diner.  The boys at the table next to us had train whistles that they blew incessantly... luckily they left a few minutes into our dinner.  The atmosphere was fun and quirky and loud... perfect for a family with young kids.  I thought of my nephew Bruce who is crazy about trains... this is his kind of place.

Marissa came along with us.  I am sure she has never been to a place like this before.  What a good sport.

The girls rode in a little supermarket-style train car that just goes back and forth.  They didn't want to leave.  Alli asked if we could go back tomorrow.

Unfortunately, Alli left her favorite sunglasses there, so maybe we will have to go back soon.
